Why this events called No U-TURN RIDE ? At first we name it Balik Pulau U-turn Ride, means we will ride from Relau To Balik Pulau & U-turn back.Total distance we expected is only 45 Km. But after the events start ,the route totally changing become 92 Km. What was happen to this event? Let see the events story as below:
Like normal,Team vista meet all the rider in Relau at 7.00am ,but this time due to some rider late;so slightly delay our flag off time.From 7.30am ,we start our events,we ride to Bukit Jambul road & enter the Bayan Lepas FTZ highway.This time the route is using outer coaster highway to Balik Pulau.On our way to Balik Pulau,we met a lot of local cyclist also go to Balik Pulau,.Maybe due to this coming week end have a big cycling round Penang island event. A lot of cyclist start to training for that.But not for Team Vista we just ride for fun.
About 9.00am ,we already reach Balik Pulau;so we strait go to the Balik Pulau market to have our breakfast.We all used 30 minute to finish our meal,and on that time one of the rider Kenny propose we ride to Titi Kerawang(Kerawang Bridge).He said is only extra 10km from the market.After we discuss,we all agreed to do this.So,we all start riding to Titi Kerawang.In this events,we have some soft ride joining.Normally they refuse to ride for a long distance.This time,due to majority rider also agreed to go,so they have no choice must also follow.
We all using about 30 minute to reach Titi Kerawang,and all of us take a rest in front of the bridge.After we take a 5 minute rest,we decided to change our plan to round Penang island(due to is U-turn back from here is more difficult than using round island road ride home)
But one thing we feel sorry for our two soft rider,that's no u-turn for them.They must follow us to complete this event with full round island routine.Today weather also not that good,the sky is grey & cloudy,so we must start to ride down to Teluk Bahang as soon as possible.When we reach Teluk Bahang,some rain drop is start falling.All of us didn't stop at Teluk Bahang, & keep on ride faster, hope that we can escape from the rain.The rain keep falling down & force us to use our maximum energy to cycling all the way to Gurney Drive.We feel that we are racing with the rain,& luckily we won it.
About 11.30am,we all reach Gurney Drive,the weather here is still cloudy but no rain.We stop for 5 minute, & start to ride to Batu Lancang road,we are using Batu lancang road through Gelugor road to go home.Due to the sky color is still grey,we have to ride faster to prevent the rain come again.
Finally,we all reach Relau at 1.00pm without wet.Some time fun ride is like this,you can't always follow what you plan,you can change it,if you feel that your event is not enough joy or fun.In this event,we only pity for that two soft riders.They join this event because they want to have short distance ride like U-turn back from Balik Pulau(only 40-45km), but in the end become a No U-Turn Ride(92km).Even the actual plan is change,but because of that also proving that every one also can ride for a long distance; whether he or she want to try or not?
Its a good new for Team Vista.We believe after this event,all Team Vista rider will not select event any more.Because for this type of 92km distance ride already can completed,so what-else event we cannot join.
